*Saturday is now a 31 Alert Day for the threat for severe thunderstorms*
Most will stay dry this evening, but scattered showers and a few storms will be possible later tonight. Overnight lows will be in the mid-50s. Off and on showers and storms will continue throughout Saturday, but highs will still manage to reach the upper 60s.
A strong cold front will bring an increased threat for heavy rain and severe storms Saturday evening. Areas west of Interstate 65 have the greater threat for severe storms where a Level 2 out of 5 severe weather risk has been issued.
Here's when storms are expected in your area Saturday evening.
Shoals: 5 PM - 8 PM
I-65 Corridor: 7 PM - 10 PM
Sand Mountain: 9 PM - Midnight
Damaging winds and heavy rain will be the main threats. A brief tornado or two can't be ruled out but the risk is low. 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected before tapering off Sunday afternoon.
