Weather looks good for football tonight

Friday's high temperatures are heading for the mid 80s despite more clouds than sun for most of the day. There is a small chance for a few sprinkles west of I-65. It will be a great night for high school football with temperatures dropping into the 60s.

This weekend looks dry and hot for late October. Highs in the mid 80s could approach record highs, especially on Saturday. Our next cold front is still on track to arrive early Monday. Scattered showers are expected through Tuesday morning but rainfall amounts remain light.

The coldest weather so far this Fall arrives on Halloween Tuesday. High temperatures will be stuck in the 50s. Trick-or-treaters will need heavy coats with their costumes Tuesday night. Evening temperatures in the upper 40s will feel more like the low 40s thanks to a brisk north breeze.

Many of us will also see our first frost or freeze of the season next week as lows drop into the 30s.

TODAY: More clouds than sun, stray shower west of I-65. Highs in the mid 80s. Wind: S 5-10 MPH.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the low 60s. Wind: S 5 MPH.
