Two Limestone Correctional Facility officers have been indicted for assaulting an inmate.

Jesse Cobb and Samuel Dial were indicted Feb. 8 for assaulting inmate William Rhinsmith, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. The corrections officers are out on bond.

According to the ADOC, both have been assigned non-contact posts pending the outcome of the criminal investigation by the department’s Law Enforcement Services Division.

Rhinesmith now is being held in Kilby Infirmary. He began serving a five-year sentence on a public health/morals charge in July 2023.
