Did you feel it? Earthquake reported in Jackson County early Thursday

A small earthquake was detected in Jackson County early Thursday near the Tennessee and Georgia state lines.

That 2.3 magnitude earthquake was detected about 4:21 a.m. Thursday about 2.5 miles northeast of Stevenson.

The United State Geological Survey reported the earthquake.

The region where the quake was detected has a history of small earthquakes.
