Body found after Morgan County house fire

Update:

The Morgan County coroner identified the victim as 53-year-old Dennis Dewayne Malone.

Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é spoke to neighbors who told us they woke up to a loud popping noise that sounded like gunshots. After seeing their neighbors house in flames, they called 911.  After crews put out the fire, they located a body inside, who has now been identified as Malone.

Right now no further information is being released about Malone, and it is unclear if he lived inside the home. An investigation into the fire and Malone's death are both being conducted by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office says a body was found after a house fire was put out in Somerville Monday morning.

It happened in the 6200 block of East Upper River Road.

The coroner says the victim is a male but their age is not being released.

Morgan County Deputies and fire personnel both responded to the scene this morning shortly after 4am.

The cause of death and the fire are both under investigation.
