Huntsville Hospital says there will be a temporary change in location for dropping off and picking up certain patients.

According to Huntsville Hospital, starting Thursday, the vehicle drop-off and pickup area for patients will move to the front of the Huntsville Hospital Orthopedic & Spine Tower at 200 Sivley Road. The hospital says this temporary change applies to inpatients and anyone with scheduled surgeries, procedures and tests at Huntsville Hospital Main.

Emergency Department patients should continue to use the ER vehicle entrance on Madison Street.

The hospital says staff will be available to help arriving patients get from the Orthopedic & Spine Tower to their destination, then back to the tower when it’s time to go home.

The hospital says the temporary change is due to a construction project near Huntsville Hospital's main entrance. These renovations on Gallatin Street are expected to take about three months.

Here are some additional details from Huntsville Hospital:

  • Anyone who wants to remain at the hospital after dropping off a patient should use the Visitor Parking garage on Gallatin Street.
  • Patients driving themselves to the hospital should continue to use the Visitor Parking garage on Gallatin Street, then report to the area they have been instructed to go for check in.
  • Other facilities on Huntsville Hospital’s downtown campus are not affected, including Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, The Heart Center, The Orthopaedic Center, Spine & Neuro Center, Governors Medical Tower, Blackwell Medical Tower and The Women’s Pavilion.
