A convicted murderer who escaped from an Alabama prison on Aug. 7 is back in custody.
A week-long manhunt in the Montgomery area for Jordan Andrew Thomas ended when he surrendered to authorities about 6 a.m. Monday, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
State prison officials say the 30-year-old killer escaped from Staton Prison in Elmore County on Aug. 7.
He was serving life for a murder in Montgomery.
No other details about his capture have been released.
