Snow Forecast

A cool, quiet Tuesday night is in the forecast for North Alabama. Temperatures will dip to the mid 30s under partly cloudy skies. Areas of fog will be possible overnight, and some may wake up to patchy frost first thing in the morning.

Tomorrow will be partly cloudy and seasonable with highs in the mid to upper 50s. A cold front will arrive Wednesday evening and may produce some isolated rain showers. Behind the front, temperatures will drop to low 30s Wednesday night and will only return to the mid 40s Thursday afternoon. By Friday, highs will only be in the low 40s.

The cold air may be accompanied by some wintry precipitation! The latest data suggests spotty wintry mix showers will be possible late Thursday into Thursday night, but should have no impact on travel.

Rain/snow mix showers will be most likely during the day Friday across all of North Alabama. Snow accumulation is unlikely for most, but less than 1" will be possible in the high terrain of Northeast Alabama into Middle Tennessee. Roads likely won't become slick due to above-freezing air and ground temperatures.

After a dry weekend, another system could bring us rain showers on New Year's Day.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. Wind: NNW 2-5 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy. Isolated evening rain showers. Chance of rain: 20%. Highs in the mid 50s. Wind: SW 3-7 MPH.
