The Florence Police Department arrested a man it says was trying to sell a woman in a parking lot.

Police responded to a complainant Saturday night about a male driver of a white Cadillac Escalade trying “to sell him jewelry and a young female (who) was in the backseat.â€

Florence Police later found the vehicle in Muscle Shoals and pulled it over. They arrested the driver, Gunici Ionut, and charged him with promoting prostitution. He’s being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bond.

The female was put in the custody of the Department of Human Resources.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Detective Flippo at 256-760-6562.
