Man charged with manslaughter after pedestrian dies in Colbert County wreck

A man was arrested in connection to a deadly wreck that killed a pedestrian in Colbert County.

Court records show Christopher Walden was charged with manslaughter.

According to court documents, a blood test revealed Walden had methamphetamine in his system when he hit and killed Timothy Wood Jr. on June 27, 2024.

Records state Wood had been fixing a strap on his trailer in the roadway when the incident occurred, and that Walden had more than 17 seconds traveling 55 miles per hour to see the vehicle in the road.Ìý

It happened on Alabama 184, near Shaw Road.

Walden was booked into jail on Aug. 16, and his bond was set at $50,000.
